CURVY STATEMENT - DIY Embellished Flats

Out of boredom, I was able to come up with a DIY project. My plain and simple black flats is one of my most comfortable shoes. I suddenly figured out that I have fancy stones left and I can use it to decorate the used pair of flats. Looking for pretty jeweled flats at the mall was a challenge and I cannot find something unique that I really like so this is the outcome of my motivation and creativity.

This is my used plain black flat shoes. I  bought this from a Marikina stall worth 100 php :)

I have chosen to put different colorful stones to glam it up

This is the finished product

This is a very late post of my designed and redesigned dresses. Summer is my favorite season of the year. If it is possible to have a country with one season in a year which is summer. I should have lived there.  From summer to the rainy season, I have been craving to make some dresses that I have designed but since my baby Singer needs repair, I was only able to make dresses by June and finished it all by July. Due to the heavy rains another problem is to take a decent photo but finally, I was able to finish everything. My theme for this collection is cut out designs.

I just found it interesting, challenging , stylish and sexy at the same time. Revealing dressess are not my type but I wanted to flaunt or bare some skin and look gorgeous at the same time. I just wanna keep it simple and classy.

The photos below would showcase 1 cut out top and 4 dresses:

Black and White Cut Out Top

This is a redesigned over sized top. I decided to cut out and design the chest and arm area. It's almost a heart shaped cut out from the check to the neck and at the arm is just a simple oblong cut out.

Animal Print Cut Out Shirt Dress

This is an over sized sweat shirt but I really like the print so I decided to reinvent this into a dress that I can pair with flats and heels. The cut out design is in the neckline area. I trimmed the polo that was attached in the cotton sweat shirt and revised a cutout design at the side of the arms.

 Lacy Ribbon Back Skater Dress

I designed this dress wondering whose wedding should I use it to.. Well it should have been Kathleen's but I was not able to go. Laces were trending since last year but I just tried making my own and it's a color white dress. I know it would make me look larger but I like white dresses since it looks neat . It's a ribbon Back dress because of the cut out at the back area and there is a ribbon in the middle where the straps of the dress are connected.

Floral Double Layered Pleated Dress

Floral dresses have been my favorite for years now but this one is quite unique form the others. This is a redesigned vintage dress. The Lacy design in the neck area is the most attractive accessory in this dress that is why I removed the long sleeve of the dress then sewed a tube that was connected to it. At the back is just a sleeveless design of the top. Actually, this is a maxi dress but since I like above the knee hem lengths I turned it into a double layered skirt since I do not like to waste the excess cloth. The prints are too cute!

Ribbon Cut Out Mullet Dress

I've been so glued to high low dresses just forgive me on this one. I love the flowy feel of the cloth. This was a long dress with a long sleeve. I really couldn't pull off a long dress so I decided to make a mullet again. The sleeves of the dress were really long and I know I would not be comfortable wearing it in a sunny weather so I planned to cut it off and reshape it like a teardrop sleeve. The cut out design was in the neck area. Without the cut out design this dress would be so plain and boring. So far, this was my favorite I just don't know when to wear this dress. It looks a bit semi formal.

Viva Plus size girls! we should have the freedom to express ourselves and let no one prohibit us from being happy and comfortable with our curves. I would appreciate opinions and comments.

CURVY STATEMENT - Loving colorful stones, jewels, accesories that lead to my creation of neck pieces

Before, I have never thought of wearing necklaces or even making it as my favorite accessory but now I had a change of heart and I have been enjoying the combination of my colorful stones that glams up every outfit that I have chosen to match.

Every creation has a story. I will share a small amount of detail in every necklace that I made as I am presenting each one of them

Black and Silver Bib Necklace

This is my first creation. I have reserved my black and silver Swarovsky stones for a special design. It took me awhile to use these stones and finally, I made a decision that this is the right design for these colors and stones. This is a bib necklace , a simple design that I could match with blouses and any top that contrasts the color of the necklace. As far as I can remember I made this necklace out of anger.. LOL I was angry with my dad for some reason? I just can't remember it well :)))))

 Red and Gold Waterfall Necklace

It was quite hard for me to think of a design for this color combination but actually, my inspiration is Chinese theme. I was able to to come up with a design before Chinese New Year. This is a signature color for that occasion. By that time, I was just in the right mood to create something attractive and this is the final result. It's not so bad after all. I have been using this necklace together with a gorgeous dress.

Colorful Candy Necklace

The colorful stones in the picture are supposed to be for embellishments on clothes but I made a necklace out of it. I was inspired by the color blocked dresses that I have dreamt of making. SO i just combined these different colored stones that are good to look at and attractive. It makes me feel younger whenever I use this and very perfect for the summer dresses that I have.

                      Tear Drop Necklace

This next creation was made 3-4am in the morning. I was nocturnal that time and out of anger from a hypocrite ex fake friend. I was able to create this necklace. Thanking her was the last thing I could think of but because of her I was able to construct a timeless necklace that I could use during formal or casual occasions. When I was in the process of doing this, there was one thing that I could think of "GO TO HELL B*" hahahah sorry for the word but  I really mean it . I ended up feeling happy because I created something elegant.

                             Jeweled  Metallic Dual Layered Necklace

The metallic like beads that were used in this creation was just a gift to me. I was pondering on when and what kind of accessory should I use this to. The perfect time was there and I came up with a metallic or futuristic type of necklace design. I tried to combine fancy plastic stones in the middle as the main accent. It matched and accentuated the neck piece. Well, It's an achievement for me. Thank you Lord for the blessing of time and inspiration.

                          Blue, Red and Elated

It's so difficult for me to make something presentable especially when I am very happy. my crazy sister asked me to make her one necklace and I only have a few stones left so it means that those are left overs and those are the least beautiful stones that I have. There's no no choice but to use my resources and instead of making a simple bib necklace then I just added a hanging blue stone in the middle. I'm so sorry to say but this is my lazy creation and my most recent . I couldn't think of any design yet. Oh crazy little thing called LOVE :)

*sorry for the negative things that were included in the blog but that was just a part of my motivation.
*Credits for Judy Yu Ang for the swarovsky stones and all of the materials used to make the necklaces
*The neck model is my crazy 19 year old sister follow her on twitter @imfluffygeselle I swear she's more than a neck LOL :)

I'll be making more in the future :)

Thank you. Lots of Love !!!!

CURVY STATEMENT - Peplum Christmas and a Happy New year

I have been experimenting designs for the holidays. It took me lots of time to scan for inspiration. I just knew what I wanted to do a day before Christmas. recently, I have been eying on formal cocktail dresses. I just realized I wanted something more casual and that I could use anytime I want.

Lace has been over used this season but I wanted to use body con skirts also. Since I am fluffy, flabby and fat, it will be difficult for me to make it work but one design allowed me to use body con and lace. Peplum has been my all time favorite design. I really loved the bold floral printed peplum skirt I made last summer that is why my theme for this holiday season is peplum. What made my christmas design different from my new year project is that my christmas design is a combination of 3 different kinds of dresses. 1st is that it is a mullet skirt at the back, 2nd is that it is a peplum dress in the front view and a body contour dress inside. This is  a formal dress and I rarely make such kinds. The color red marked it as a Christmas design that you could wear during parties.

I really have no time to make a New Year's Eve dress. What I can do , is  to make a very simple design. I just tried to make a peplum skirt that would fit any kind of top. I was very happy constructing it for 2 and a half hours. i was really rushing to make it on New year's eve. So far I think It fits me well. It is a coincidence that Blue is one of the colors of the year 2013. Hope it makes me lucky all year round.

 New Year's Eve outfit

I paired it with a White stag lace top with pearl buttons and White Steve Madden clogs. thing that I would blog about is the best that I had for the year 2012.
