CURVY STATEMENT :Think big, Think Beautiful: A Response to Lane Bryant's #PlusisEqual Campaign

Have you seen the September issue of Vogue? Thank God for sending us an angel here on earth! Lane Bryant has been an inspiration to all of us. It's a cry for fashion equality. I am supporting their  pledge and this has also been my advocacy for years now. I am just a plus sized girl exploring my worth before but now I am proud to say that I am happy with what I've become. It really takes a courageous spirit to fight for equality in the fashion industry. People adore size 0 models and endorsers but the time has come that women of all sizes has to be celebrated and acknowledged in whatever aspect that we have.

We have to think BIG - Yes! Widen our horizons and and open our minds to possibilities.  We just can't let society dictate who or what kind of person should be accepted. Always remember that everyone is a work of art. We're all blessed with talents and capabilities which should be honed. Nurture those talents for us to prove that we can be productive and size and shape doesn't determine your worth. Be fearless in expressing your self. You don't owe anyone an explanation when it comes to your ideas and thoughts but always do it with responsibility.

Be fearless in expressing yourself <3

Think BEAUTIFUL - Aside from body positivity , Let us all redefine beauty. Vanity has been a fad and a lot of women strive for physical perfection which is equal to skinny or size 0 because media has been marketing that you have to be skinny to be acceptable or perceived as someone beautiful. NO beauty has to be a package deal. It should be comprised of physical wellness, intelligence and character.

Media has a lot of influence in the kind of society that  we have. It is also up to us if we would like to join the bandwagon so If you want to make this world a better place, I would start supporting women in every size, shape and race. We all deserve to be celebrated. Bullying, body shaming, harassment and discrimination should be condemned. We might have a long way to go but at least we're trying to get there.
We might have a long way to go but at least we're trying to get there. :)

Miss Lane Bryant,

Thank you very much for the awesome campaign that you have started. Like you, There are also some plus size warriors in the Philippines would like to redefine beauty standards and fight for fashion equality. We're still being challenged by society at this moment but I am hoping that one day, they will understand that we all want to be liberated and given a chance to shine. The progress that we've seen in Vogue has been an eye opener to women around the world. You are an inspiration and I personally give my 100 percent support in your campaigns. It uplifts the spirits of women  who are victims of the society that they are living in. We're going to work hand in hand for this advocacy to finally be acknowledged.

                           Sincerely,

                              LOISELLE

Let us spread love and happiness. No judgements and shaming. Allow people to live their own lives and just be guided with what is good and bad for all of us.  We just have to keep moving forward :)
